Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine
Supporting women’s health and emotional wellbeing through Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Blue Mountains.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a comprehensive system of healthcare that has evolved over thousands of years. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, TCM focuses on understanding the underlying patterns of imbalance within the body that may be contributing to illness or discomfort.
At its core, Chinese Medicine recognises that physical health, emotional wellbeing, and mental state are deeply interconnected. When one aspect is out of balance, it can affect the whole system. Treatment is therefore designed to support the body as an integrated whole, rather than addressing individual symptoms alone.
TCM works by supporting the body’s natural ability to regulate and heal itself. This is achieved through therapies such as acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary therapy, and lifestyle guidance, all of which are tailored to the individual. Care is personalised and responsive, taking into account factors such as constitution, environment, stress levels, and life stage.

At Jade Mountain Medicine, care begins with listening. Each treatment is tailored to the individual, taking into account your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and stage of life.
Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, Traditional Chinese Medicine works by identifying patterns of imbalance unique to you. Treatment may evolve over time as your body responds, supporting both immediate relief and long-term wellbeing.
This integrative approach allows care to be gentle yet effective, supporting the body’s natural ability to restore balance physically, emotionally, and energetically.

Following a detailed consultation, acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles at specific points along the body’s meridians. Needles remain in place for a minimum of 20 minutes, allowing the body to rest in a warm, calming environment.

After a consultation (in-clinic or remotely), herbal prescriptions are individually tailored and provided in convenient granule form, mixed simply with warm water. High-quality granule herbs from Shen Jing and KO DA are used, tested for heavy metals and free from endangered species.

Cupping and Gua Sha may be used alongside acupuncture or as standalone treatments to relieve pain, tension, and stress. Gua Sha uses a smooth stone to improve circulation and release tightness, while cupping applies gentle suction to support blood flow and tissue recovery. Both glass (fire cupping) and plastic cups are used depending on individual needs.

Used alongside acupuncture and/or moxibustion, stone medicine involves placing stones and minerals on specific acupuncture points or meridians to stimulate a therapeutic response. This ancient Daoist practice is often used to support emotional balance, healing, and overall wellbeing.
Stone Medicine is offered in packages of three sessions, ideally spaced no more than one week apart.
